How much does carpet cleaning cost per room in LA?
Carpet is priced per room. A small room starts at $99 and a large room starts at $139, and basic spot treatment is included in both. Most homes have a mix of the two, so your total is simply the rooms added together, as long as it reaches the $129 minimum.
This is a cleaning visit, not a machine rental. The process is vacuuming, treatment of the spots that need it, and extraction. You can see every option on our carpet cleaning page.
How much does it cost to clean a small room vs a large room?
A small room is $99 and a large room is $139, so the difference is $40 per room. We don’t publish a fixed size cutoff between the two. Send the rough length and width of each room with a photo, and we’ll tell you which option each room fits before you book.
How much does carpet cleaning cost for a 1- or 2-bedroom apartment?
A 1-bedroom apartment with a carpeted bedroom and living room comes to $238 if the bedroom is a small room and the living room is a large one. A 2-bedroom with two small bedrooms and a large living room comes to $337. If only the bedroom is carpeted, the $129 minimum applies.
If you rent and you’re cleaning before a move-out or a building inspection, tell us the date and the number of rooms when you text. Results depend on the carpet’s age and condition, and we’ll be honest about what’s realistic before you book. Carpeted hallways and stairs vary a lot from one building to the next, so include them in your photos and we’ll include them in the price we text you.
Is there a minimum charge for carpet cleaning?
Yes, the minimum is $129 per visit. One small room at $99 is below it, so a single small room comes to $129. One large room, or any two rooms, is already above the minimum, and then each room is simply charged at its own price.
If you only have one small room, it usually makes sense to add a second room or the area rug in your living room to the same visit.
How much extra for pet stains and heavy stains on carpet?
Basic spot treatment is included. Heavy stain or pet odor treatment is a $40 add-on, and fabric protector is another $40 if you want it. For urine and pet odors we add a separate deodorizing treatment to the cleaning, so mention the accident when you ask for a quote.
Urine usually goes deeper than the spot you can see, into the backing and often the pad underneath. Tell us where the accident happened, how long it has been there and what you’ve already tried on it. We can often improve it, but we won’t promise that every stain or odor will disappear.
Can I get carpet, a rug and a couch cleaned in one visit?
Yes. Everything shares one visit, so the $129 minimum only matters once, and each item keeps its own published price. A large carpeted room, an 8x10 area rug and a 3-seat sofa come to $427 at our starting prices.
The full price lists are in rug cleaning cost in Los Angeles and upholstery cleaning cost in Los Angeles. You can add everything to one estimate and send it in a single message.
Do carpet cleaning prices change between Hollywood, Downtown LA and the rest of LA?
No. Our prices are the same across the areas we serve. As of October 2026, Hollywood is where we clean the most wall-to-wall carpet, with 15 visits that included carpeted rooms or stairs, more than in any other single area. Hollywood also has plenty of older apartment buildings without elevators, so tell us about stairs and parking when you book. More on cleaning in Hollywood.
In Downtown LA, most of our jobs are in apartment towers and converted lofts with freight elevators and set hours for contractors. Good Day Cleaners, LLC is insured, and we can send a certificate of insurance to your building on request. Send your ZIP with your photos so we can confirm we cover your address.
Is it cheaper to rent a carpet cleaning machine?
For one small room with light dirt, renting can cost less. For a whole apartment, the savings are usually smaller than people expect once you add the rental, the cleaning solution and an afternoon of work. Rental machines also tend to leave more water in the carpet, which means longer drying and a risk of a musty smell.
A rental is fine for a small, fresh spill. For whole rooms, pet accidents or a move-out, a professional visit usually saves you time and a second try. If your carpet is fine to clean yourself, we’ll tell you.
How long until I can walk on carpet after cleaning?
It depends on how thick the carpet is, the pad underneath, the airflow in the room and how much treatment it needed. Cleaning time and drying time are different things. Most of our jobs take around 1 to 2 hours of cleaning, and the drying happens after we leave. Your technician will tell you when it’s safe to walk on and when to move furniture back.
To help it dry, open windows, run a fan or the air conditioning, and book in the morning so the carpet has the whole day. If furniture has to go back sooner, small protective pads or foil squares under the legs help prevent marks. The same things that slow down a couch slow down carpet, and we explain them in how long a couch takes to dry after cleaning.
