Vacuuming the pile before a deep clean, the first step of in-home rug and carpet cleaning in Los Angeles

How much does it cost to clean an 8x10 rug in Los Angeles?

An 8x10 is our large size, and it starts at $139. It is also the size we see most. In West Hollywood, where rugs are our most common job, customers list 8x10 more often than any other size, followed by 5x8 and 6x9. If your rug is bigger than about 8x10, like a 9x12, send the length and width and we will confirm the price before you book.

How much does it cost to clean a small rug, a runner or a 5x8?

Small and medium rugs both start at $99. That covers bedside rugs, kitchen rugs, hallway runners and most 5x8 rugs. Because every visit has a $129 minimum, one small rug on its own comes to $129. Two small rugs come to $198, which is already above the minimum, so each rug is simply charged at its own price.

Is there a minimum charge for rug cleaning?

Yes, the minimum is $129 per visit. A single large rug at $139 is already above it. A single small or medium rug is below it, so most people add a second item to make the visit worth it. Every item keeps its own published price, so you can see exactly where the total comes from. See all our starting prices.

Do you clean rugs at my home, or do you pick them up?

We clean rugs right at your home by default, on the floor where they live. You don’t wait days for the rug to come back, and you can see the work being done. If a rug can’t be cleaned in place, pickup and return is possible as an exception for an extra fee. Ask about it when you book.

Do wool and viscose rugs cost more to clean?

The starting price is set by size, not by fiber. The material can still change the final quote, and it decides how we clean the rug and whether it can be wet-cleaned at all. Wool cleans well but holds water, so it needs more drying time. Synthetic rugs are usually the most forgiving. Viscose, often sold as art silk or bamboo silk, can yellow or lose its sheen when wet, and some viscose rugs shouldn’t be wet-cleaned. Jute and sisal can brown or show water stains. Send a photo of the front, the back and any label, and we will tell you honestly before you book whether your rug suits our process.

What else changes the price of rug cleaning?

Condition and access. Basic spot treatment is included. Heavy stain or pet urine treatment is a $40 add-on, and fabric protector is another $40. Urine soaks into the backing and often the pad, and older accidents are harder to treat, so we can often improve it but we won’t promise it will disappear. Stairs, parking and building rules matter too, especially in apartments and condos. We tell you about any extra before booking, never on site.

What does a typical rug cleaning order cost in LA?

Here are a few common combinations at our starting prices. An 8x10 living room rug on its own comes to $139. An 8x10 rug and the 3-seat sofa in front of it come to $288. Two medium rugs come to $198. An 8x10 rug with pet odor treatment comes to $179.

Do rug cleaning prices change between Santa Monica, West Hollywood and the rest of LA?

No. Our prices are the same across the areas we serve. Rugs are the item we clean most in both cities. As of October 2026, 30 of our 75 visits in West Hollywood and 20 of our 38 visits in Santa Monica included at least one rug. See rug cleaning in West Hollywood and rug cleaning in Santa Monica. Near the beach, sand works deep into the pile, so vacuum or shake out what you can before the visit.

Is it cheaper to rent a carpet cleaner for a rug?

For a synthetic rug with one small spill, maybe. A rental machine usually leaves much more water in the rug, which means longer drying and a real risk of browning, color bleeding or a musty smell, especially on wool, cotton, jute and viscose. It also does nothing for a pad that has soaked up a spill. If your rug is fine to clean yourself, we will tell you.

How long does a rug take to dry after cleaning?

Most rugs dry in about 4 to 8 hours. Thick pile or a humid day can take until the next morning. Keep foot traffic off, and put the pad and heavy furniture back only once the rug is fully dry. Drying works the same way it does for upholstery, which we explain in how long a couch takes to dry after cleaning.
